About the role

The dietetics program delivers high quality, evidence-based practice to the community of East Gippsland.

The position forms part of a larger multidisciplinary service providing coordinated and quality private and public Allied Health services in a well-equipped practice, under a multitude of funding streams including but not limited to; NDIS, Private Health Insurance, Medicare, Community Health, Commonwealth Home and Support Packages, Home and Community Care, TAC, Workcover and DVA.

You will provide dietetics outpatient service with a strong emphasis on best practice, empowering self-management and prevention. Services may be delivered in a variety of settings including direct client care, groups, on-site at GLCH and via telehealth.

Duties

  • Provide high quality, evidence-based individual and group dietetics services, including assessment, and goal-oriented interventions, with a focus on positively influencing the health of individuals, groups and/or populations to achieve nutrition outcomes.
  • Actively participate in case conferences/care planning meetings and external forums to ensure an integrated and effective service development response for the client.
  • Contribute to the coordination of a multi-disciplinary team approach to patient centred care and planning, to ensure improved outcomes for clients.
  • Partake in clinical supervision, training, support and mentoring of fellow team members in the allied health team, to support the delivery of quality outpatient dietetics services.
  • Work collaboratively with allied health assistants and under the supervision and delegation framework to support dietetics service delivery.
  • Participate and contribute to evaluation, quality improvement and service development within the dietetics program and broader allied health programs, to ensure improved outcomes for clients.

Skills & Experience 

For this role, the successful candidate must have Bachelor or Master of Health Science (Nutrition and / or Dietetics) or equivalent and hold a degree accredited by Dietitians Australia to be an Accredited Practicing Dietitian (APD) and member of Dietitians Australia.
