About the role

The respiratory nurse role applies relevant clinical knowledge and expertise into prevention, early intervention, chronic disease management, and health promotion interventions, across the life span.

The role works collaboratively within primary care setting incorporating general practice, community health, aged care, post-acute care, and palliative care, providing specialist assessment, education, management strategies and/ or recommendations, for people living with chronic respiratory conditions, including but not limited to asthma, chronic obstructive pulmonary disease (COPD), bronchiectasis, and interstitial lung disease.

Skills & Experience

  • AHPRA recognised Registered Nurse qualification
  • Completion and currency of recognised spirometry training and demonstrated competency in accordance with nationally recognised standards or willingness to do so
